Dartmouth man accused of assaulting teen

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Police have arrested a South Dartmouth man accused of assaulting and giving alcohol to a teenage girl.

Sumkit Grace, 40, of 42 Milton Street, was arrested at his home Thursday following an investigation by Dartmouth detectives, which police said stemmed from information from the alleged 15-year-old victim.

Grace was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery and one count of delivering liquor to a person under 21. He was arraigned in New Bedford District Court Friday.

Police said they’re continuing to investigate with the assistance of the Mass. Department of Children and Families and the Bristol Country Children’s Advocacy Center.
