CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – March 14th is World Sleep Day, but experts say the majority of Americans aren’t getting enough sleep.
The World Association of Sleep Medicine says quality sleep is measured by length, continuity, and how deep of a sleep you get.
They found that more than 70 percent of people in the U.S. get less than 8 hours of sleep a day.
Don Pouolit of Chicopee told 22News, “I haven’t sleep 8 hours in a long time. If I do it’s rare! And then it’s like this time of day and I’m like, ‘ah the day is shot’.”
Health experts warn getting enough sleep each night can improve your emotional balance and help you maintain a healthy weight.
