LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s an annual tradition that honors Sgt. Joshua Desforges, a Ludlow native killed in action in Afghanistan in May 2010.
Many people competed Thursday night in the ultimate Marine-style fitness challenge. It’s an hour long competition that challenges participants to pull-ups, push-ups, squats and abdominal workouts. The event raises money for a scholarship fund set up in Sgt. Desforges’ memory.
22News spoke with Joshua’s mother about Tom Cote who started the fitness challenge.
“Tom’s a marine and he was Josh’s mentor in high school, trying to keep him on his path because he always knew that he wanted to be a marine,” said Arlene Desforges, Joshua’s mother.
