Missing inmate found by police

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – An inmate who allegedly walked away from a pre-release work program has been found, and returned to jail.

Stephen O’Neil of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office told 22News that Jason Moran was captured in Springfield at around 10:30 Tuesday night.

Sheriff’s officials had been searching for Moran, after O’Neil says that the 38 year-old was dropped off at the bus station Monday morning,where he was to be taken to a worksite. He never showed up at the worksite, however.

Moran had only three days left on his sentence when he disappeared, O’Neil said.

He is now in custody at the Hampden County Jail in Ludlow.
