GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A contractor will spend the next two to three years in prison for failing to do thousands of dollars worth of renovations on a woman’s Franklin County home.
Mary Carey of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office told 22News that last week, a judge found Kevin Fisher, 38, of New Bedford, guilty of the crime of larceny over $250. He was sentenced to two to three years in prison.
According to Carey, the theft charge was brought after a woman from Turners Falls had hired Fisher’s company, XStream Renovations, to do siding work on her home back in March of 2013. Fisher was accused of stealing a total of $3,000 from the woman, who had found his company on Craigslist.
Carey says that the District Attorney’s Office works to provide information to customers doing home improvement projects, through their consumer protection unit.
