Propane tanker car off track in West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – CSX railroad workers are out behind a West Springfield shopping plaza, where a fuel tanker car has derailed.

The car is labeled with a flammable 1075 placard, which indicates that the car is generally used to carry propane. It derailed on the tracks that run between the Century Center shopping plaza on Memorial Avenue and the Plastic Packaging Company on Union Street.

22News called the West Springfield Fire Department, where a dispatcher said that there is no risk to the public, as the car is upright.
