Career fair held at Greenfield Community College

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Despite a slight decrease in the unemployment rate here in Massachusetts, people are still looking for work.

Greenfield Community Colleged co-hosted a “career and job” fair Tuesday with the Franklin Hampshire Career Center.  Students and member of the public had a chance to meet with employers from a variety of economic sectors, including marketing and clean energy.

Alisha Brouillet is a business student at GCC. She told 22News she went to the career fair to explore her options for the future.

“Just to see if there was anything I might want, you get my foot in the door somewhere or if there’s something I might want to pick up just to see what’s out there right now,” Brouillet said.

The unemployment rate in Massachusetts for the month of January is 6.8%.
