CHD to open drug treatment in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield-based Center for Human Development is expanding into Franklin County with facilities for mental health care and substance abuse treatment for women.

CHD hosted a “thank you” celebration for its partners and supporters in Greenfield Monday night at the Greenfield Grille.

CHD board chairman Evan plotkin told 22News they’re serving all populations in Greenfield, including the “Continuum Program” which helps prevent the placement of children into residential treatment with a goal of  keeping troubled kids at home with their families.

They’re also opening “The Watershed Recovery Program for Women” this month. And their new outpatient clinic is already active.

“This program will probably bring at least 30 new jobs to the Greenfield area.  And it involves us renovating some properties.  We think it’ll be a great economic stimulus to Greenfield,” said CHD President Jim Goodwin.

The Watershed Recovery Program for Women will have 25 beds, and will begin taking clients March 17th.  The Continuum program for children will open July 1st.
