GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – As the days get longer and warmer, we can expect to spend more time outdoors trying to stay fit. 22News got some advice during a sports clinic at Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield on Sunday.
Learning how to stay fit as we get older always attracts a crowd. Trainer Bob Uguccioni demonstrated what working out can do if you’re serious about staying in the best shape for a long time.
“It’s going to condition those muscles to be able to stretch and break up some stiffness, and learning how to stretch correctly stretching seven days a week,” said Uguccioni.
Each person at the Greenfield sports clinic have their own concerns about doing the best they can to stay in good shape as they get along in years.
“As I’ve gotten older, I have a lot more aches and pains, muscle kind of conditions, perhaps stretching better and definitely can help me. It’s a lot harder to keep in shape, If you work at it it’s a lot better, If you ignore it it doesn’t go away,” said Uguccioni.
The name of the sports clinic, “Time to Spring into Action – Run, Bike Jump, and Play: Are You Ready?” seemed to reflect what brought out the large crowd to Franklin Medical Center on this second Sunday in March.
