HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Sunday night at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, a throwback performance drew a big crowd.
Chapin Auditorium in South Hadley was packed with people watching the Big Broadcast.
It’s recreates a 1940’s live radio show on stage with all the big band sound and jazz music that comes along the era.
People told 22News it was a show that almost seems to transport you back to a bygone era.
“It shows what radio, TV, and entertainment was at the time. And for people who grew up in the 40’s and 50’s who heard swing and big band all the time, it’s kind of like a nostalgia thing,” said Mark Auerbach of Longmeadow.
This was the 9th year of the Big Broadcast and once again 22News Storm Team meteorologist Brian Lapis played the role of emcee Fred Kelley.
