SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Heroin, guns, and thousands of dollars in cash were seized from the home of a suspected drug dealer during a raid Thursday, Springfield police say.

Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that Anabal “Ant” Vazquez, 26, of Springfield is facing multiple charges after police searched his Liberty Heights home around noontime.

According to Delaney, Vazquez came under investigation after detectives received word that he was delivering bundles of heroin throughout the city from his silver Honda Civic.

Officers received a search warrant, and then went to his home at 115 Governor Street, where Delaney says they found 158 bags of heroin, a Remington 552 rifle, a Hi-point carbine rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, and more than $3,000 in cash.

Vazquez faces a charge of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, as well as multiple weapons charges. He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in Springfield District Court.

Delaney says that Springfield police are making a “full court press” against heroin dealers in the city.
