Ex-Ludlow officer indicted on drug charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Ludlow Police lieutenant was indicted by a Hampden County grand jury Thursday on charges that he stole and tampered with drug evidence, and possessed cocaine.

Lt. Thomas Foye, 49, of Ludlow, is accused of is accused of stealing cocaine and prescription pills from the Ludlow Police Department evidence locker. He is alleged to have gotten access to the locker by using an emergency key. Investigators also allegedly found empty bags of evidence in his office.

Foye has been on paid leave since he was arrested last August at the Ludlow Police Station. He was also ordered to surrender his service weapon.

The attorney general’s office says Foye will be arraigned in Hampshire Superior Court at a later date.
