SPRINGFIELD (WWLP)- The 13th annual 94.7 WMAS Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon to help kids at Baystate Children’s Hospital started Thursday morning.
More than $2.14 million has been raised since the first Radiothon in 2002, and in 2013 alone, $250,000 was raised. All the money goes to help kids and families in western Massachusetts.
Broadcast hours for the Radiothon will be from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. During that time, 94.7 WMAS-led by the Kellog Krew of Chris, Dina, and Lopez- will be taking calls from donors and telling the stories of kids and families that have utilized Baystate Children’s Hospital.
There will also be a live Radiothon remote broadcast indoors at the entrance to Target at the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside on March 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Here is how you can donate:
- Phone: Listeners will have an opportunity during the Radiothon to join the “Miracle Maker Club,” requiring a pledge of at least $20 per month on a credit card or a one-time donation of $240 or more. When listeners become a member of the club, a toy or game is donated by Hasbro.
- Texting: From your cell phone you can make an automatic $10 donation by texting the word “Baystate” to 50555. The donation is charged to the donor’s regular monthly cell phone bill and is separated from other transactions and identified as a non-taxable donation. Donors can text up to three times per monthly billing cycle.
