Pothole hotline set up for West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Town of West Springfield has set up a pothole hotline.

West Springfield drivers can call 495-1891, extension 1874, to report potholes. It has been an expensive problem this winter. When it’s this cold outside, workers can only use temporary “cold patches” and cannot prevent potholes from forming again.

Many people are looking forward to warmer weather when road crews can use longer lasting materials to fix potholes.

Taiena Mar of Springfield told 22News, “I have to be dodging every pothole, you know. I swerve around, but even if I swerve around I still end up hitting it. I’m scared to lose a tire because tires are very expensive.”

You can also report potholes directly to the state Department of Transportation by calling 617-973-7800.
