Holyoke, Comcast reach 10 year deal

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse announced the city renewed a ten year license with Comcast Communications on Tuesday.

The contract will pay the city between approximately $400,000 and $500,000 per year for the ten years of the contract.  The old contract which expired, gave the city on average $126,000 per year.

The new contract also gives senior citizens a $2 discount off the Digital Starter Tier.

Comcast will also provide $603,000 for a public access channel that will be available for the community to use to create their own programming, as well as create five new jobs.
