Family homeless after Granby fire

GRANBY, Mass (WWLP) – Two people will have to find a place to stay after a fire damaged their home in Granby overnight.

According to Granby Fire Chief Russ Anderson, the fire started in the basement of 80 Cold Hill Drive just after 11 o’clock Saturday night.

Along with Granby Fire Department, South Hadley Fire Department and Crews from Westover Airbase helped put out the fire.

According to Chief Anderson, the fire burned for about an hour before in was extinguished and caused a severe amount of smoke damage to the home.

It’s not clear how the fire started and Granby fire department is investigating the cause.
