SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The red, white and blue Falcons were rather pink for Saturday night’s game against the Providence Bruins.
“Pink in the Rink” is an annual night that is hosted by Noble Hospital to raise awareness of breast cancer research.
It’s a national event throughout the American Hockey League.
Jane Boland Forney of Springfield told 22News, “I was here earlier. My friend played in a benefit game before the Falcons and it was a benefit for cancer awareness. And now we’re here to support Falcons and I think it’s a great cause.”
The Falcons wore special jerseys for Saturday’s game. They’ll be auctioned off now on eBay.
