CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of lawmakers, union members and community leaders filled the room at Friday morning’s Annual Legislative Breakfast.
The Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO brought these people together to discuss issues like sick time, minimum wage and jobs, among other topics and policies important to working families.
Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley told 22News that as the economy continues to turn around, it needs to turn around for everyone.
“What we all know is that we need to grow this economy and we need to have the workforce development that will prepare those folks for the jobs of today and tomorrow,” said Coakley.
Coakley said she believes businesses, labor unions, not-for-profits, colleges and elected officials should come together to decide how to move forward with the region’s economic development.
The event was held at the Castle of Knights in Chicopee.
