Overwhelming concern over potholes in Western Mass.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Figures don’t lie, especially when it comes to your responses to our question of the day.

On Saturday, the 22News Internet Poll Question revealed that 98 percent of those who answered the question feel Western Massachusetts’ pothole problems will get worse before they improve.

It’s rare to find nearly 100 per cent of the respondents feeling the same way, we’re talking about the dreaded potholes, which If they don’t damage your car’s tires and rims, they spend the greater part of your trip trying to avoid hitting them.

David Moulton of Longmeadow told 22News that he is concerned about repairs to the same potholes so often.

“There should be a way that you can repair them in the winter time so you can repair them once and you don’t have to go through this ongoing basis and you’d save the taxpayers a lot of money,” said Moulton.

Right now, Western Massachusetts Public Works departments are waiting for the more permanent hot patch, but the paving material isn’t expected to be ready until early to mid-March.
