(WTMJ) The man accused of stealing a Stradivarius violin worth an estimated $5-million claims an Asian gang forced him to take part in the crime.
Salah Salahadyn told reporter Michelle Fiore from NBC Milwaukee affiliate WTMJ that he was only acting to protect his family’s “safety and security”.
He admitted holding the violin while waiting for instructions on where it was to be shipped, but says he had a change of heart.
Salahadyn also said that the manner in which violinist Frank Almond was tased and robbed of the violin was “reprehensible”, and while he did not admit to the robbery, said he was sorry it had happened.
