Longmeadow B&E suspect arrested after foot chase

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Longmeadow Police have arrested a breaking and entering suspects after about six cars were broken into. Police are searching for a second suspect.

According to Longmeadow Police Sgt. Robert Stocks, police responded to Quinnehtuk Road, around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, after getting reports of two suspects attempting to break into cars.

Sgt. Stocks said when Detective Ewen MacEachern arrived, two male suspects fled on foot towards Frank Smith Road. MacEachern chased after the suspects and was able to apprehend 18-year-old Billy Alicea-Cruz of Springfield.

About six cars were broken into, in the area of Quinnehtuk Road, said Sgt. Stocks. Taken from the cars were wallets, GPS units, satellite radio receivers, jewelry and money

Billy Alicea-Cruz is being charged with:

  • B&E nighttime for felony (7 counts)
  • Malicious damage
  • Receiving stolen property

The second suspect was last seen running towards Twin Hills Country Club.
