Powerball jackpot rises to $440 million

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – No winner in the Powerball drawing means the jackpot grows and so too, lottery fever.

All you have to do is match six numbers. Sounds easy, right? Well, it’s not. In fact, your odds are about 1 in 175 million.

However, if it’s your lucky day, it can change your life and the lives of those you love.

22News went to Chicopee, where people told us what they’d do if they hit the jackpot.

“If I won the $400 million, I don’t know. I’d probably put some of it away. I’d at least take out a couple million here. Spend it for some fun. Cars maybe. And then I’ll store it away for my family,” said Dan Kujawa.

The jackpot stands at a cool $400 million with a $227.8 million cash option. Powerball is played in 43 states, D.C., and the Virgin Islands. The next drawing is on Wednesday.
