Indian Motorcycles back on sale in WMass

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts’ newest Indian Motorcycle dealer took delivery of his first four bikes on Friday.

Carolyn Kerr of Monson purchased one. She is the great granddaughter of Frank Weschler, the longtime president of Indian Motocycles when they were made in Springfield from 1901 to 1953.

“I spent years hearing stories my grandmother would tell about what a wonderful man my great grandfather was. And knowing his business history, tying in to what a wonderful man he was, to his family, it’s just a wonderful tradition to carry on,” Kerr said.

She told 22News that she expects to take her first ride in the spring.

A company in Iowa now makes the Indian Motorcycles.
