WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – If you live near Barnes Air National Guard Base, you may be seeing and hearing an increase in aircraft activity from now through Thursday.

SMSgt Robert Sabonis of the 104th Fighter Wing notified 22News that they will be flying training missions on Tuesday and Wednesday evening at around 5:30, with landings art around 7:30. On Thursday, they will take off around 4:45 P.M., with landings around 6:45, depending on the weather conditions.

“The evening missions are a critical part of our required reoccurring training. The night-training is required to ensure our pilots are ready to respond to any airborne threat in the Northeastern United States, at any time, in any condition,” Sabonis wrote in a statement.
