HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Traffic was moving again Thursday night on Lower Westfield Road in Holyoke, after a water main break was fixed.
Around 6:00 p.m. Thursday, water was bubbling up through the road surface in several spots in front of the CVS on Lower Westfield Road. Holyoke Water Works crews were called in to fix the break.
Holyoke Police had closed Lower Westfield Road, from Whiting Farms to Holy Family Road, while crews cleared the area. Holyoke Police Lt. Manuel Reyes told 22News the road was patched and reopened by 8:00 p.m.
There was no undermine, but Holyoke Water Works will be back to make a more permanent fix.
