SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Wednesday’s storm forced hundreds of cancellations and closures across western Massachusetts.
Some places, like the Pride convenience store on Columbus Avenue in Springfield stayed open. In fact, all Pride stores are open 24/7, even on a snowy day.
The manager, David Guardino, told 22News business was slower than normal Wednesday, with most customers stopping by to buy bread, milk or snacks.
“Nobody really wanted to come out until the storm ended, and then we got a little bit of rush,” said Guardino. “People getting milk and things like that they ran out of, and the loaf of bread they couldn’t get the day before. So we got a little busy.”
Guardino said on snow days like Wednesday, most of their gas business comes from plow truck drivers who gas-up either at the start or at the end of their shifts.
