DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) – Guns, ammunition, and books related to becoming a serial killer and manufacturing methamphetamine were just some of the evidence Dartmouth police said they seized from a Richard St. apartment following an eight-hour stand off.
Police say detectives executed the search warrant early Wednesday morning, hours after police took Kevin Pacheco, 36, into custody.
New Bedford and Dartmouth police along with SWAT teams arrived at Pacheco’s apartment around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday after he allegedly issued threats against Roger Williams University’s Rhode Island campuses.
According to a release from the school, a small group of faculty members at the university’s law school reported receiving an email from a former student, which used “threatening language” and “raised concerns.”
Dartmouth Police said Pacheco was being evaluated at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and is awaiting arraignment in Massachusetts on charges of extortion and threats.
