GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A significant snow storm is on the way. And some Franklin County residents are making plans for their “snow day.”
Western Massachusetts is preparing for another snow storm. And Greenfield could see 10 inches of snow or more, but Franklin County residents aren’t intimidated. Thom Lapointe told 22News, this type of weather is expected. “Like it’s winter, and it’s New England so it’s to be expected, it’s that time of year, it’s nothing extraordinary for our area.”
Unlike the residents of Atlanta who were paralyzed by a few inches of snow, people here say it will be just another day. And not everyone is fortunate to stay out of work because of the weather. Ann Lachman of Hawley told 22News she’ll be one of those working. “Actually i have to work, i work at home so it will just be another day, except i won’t go to the post office with my stuff that i’m mailing out.”
Some people actually plan to take advantage of the snow to participate in winter-time sports and activities. Robin Panagakos told 22News she’ll be making the best of the time off. “I might get outside and do some snowshoeing, or cross country skiing, or maybe even work on a snowman if I can find someone to do that with.”
Most people said they already have their fridges stocked and batteries for their flashlights in case the power goes out. 22News will provide you continued coverage on that storm.
