HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Hundreds of people came out to support the annual fundraiser for the AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
An estimated four hundred people paid 60 dollars apiece to attend Friday night’s gala at the Log Cabin Banquet House in Holyoke.
Money raised through ticket sales and the silent and live auctions help provide “emergency financial assistance” for people living with HIV & AIDS in Hampden and Hampshire Counties.
“Providing people with rent money. If they need utility help, we give them that. If they need furniture provided, we give them that as well,” Event Chairman Todd Porter said.
In addition to emergency aid, The Aids foundation of Western Massachusetts does a lot of educational outreach and advocacy promoting quality and dignity of life for those living with HIV and AIDS.
