GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Hundreds of residents gathered in Greenfield with a common goal of stopping drug abuse and overdoses in Franklin County.
At Thursday night’s forum, parents, health care professionals and elected officials spoke about the increasing need for mental health and drug abuse prevention services.
One Greenfield resident told 22News she’s concerned about opiate abuse among young people, especially after one of her friends lost a loved one.
“Her granddaughter died of a heroin overdose after being a top notch student and just all around kid that you want your kid to be. I think it must be very scary to be a parent these days,” Anna Morrison of Greenfield said.
Many people also learned about existing prevention services in the Greenfield area.
