GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Picking up a prescription, and getting medical care, all under the same roof. It’s called the MinuteClinic, and it opened up Wednesday inside the CVS Pharmacy on Federal Street in Greenfield.
Convenience and quality care is the goal of the MinuteClinic inside the Federal Street CVS in Greenfield.
It’s the first MinuteClinic to open up in western Massachusetts, although, they plan to open four more this year, in Amherst, East Longmeadow, Palmer and West Springfield.
They held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, and now they’ll be seeing patients.
Brittany Silva is the MinuteClinic Statewide Practice Manager. “We treat ages two year old and above currently, right now in Massachusetts. So, we’re here for the whole family. We treat a variety of acute illnesses.”
Ana Zanella is a nurse and Clinic Practice Manager, she continued Silva’s thought. “Such as strep throat, mono, the flu. Sinus infections. We also see physicals for kids.”
The clinic is open 7 days a week, you don’t need an appointment, and most insurance is accepted.
For Ed Warzecka, the clinic means he won’t have to take time off work. “I think for someone like myself, working a regular 9-5 or 9-7 schedule, it gives me the opportunity to come a little later in the day, around 8-pm, to get the services that I need.”
There are more than 800 MinuteClinics, including 47 in Massachusetts. Each appointment takes between 15 and 20 minutes.
