Man injured in Southwick motorcycle crash

SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – A man was taken to Baystate Medical Center after a motorcycle crash in Southwick Wednesday afternoon.

Police Sgt. Kirk Sanders told 22News that around 2:10, the man was riding down Point Grove Road, when his motorcycle went off the roadway and hit a mailbox and guide wire near 57 Point Grove. The man was thrown from his bike.

Sgt. Sanders said the man was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center. No word yet on the extent of his injuries.

Sanders said that police are still looking into the cause of the crash, but it does not appear that the rider was speeding.
