Gubernatorial candidates forum in Noho

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A capacity crowd came to Northampton Wednesday night to hear from five democrats who want to be the next governor of Massachusetts.

Hundreds of people filled the Northampton High School Auditorium to hear a panel of western Massachusetts media representatives question the candidates.

The five democrats fielding questions at the forum were Joseph Avellone, Donald Berwick, Martha Coakley, Steven Grossman and Juliette Kayem.

Easthampton voter Joe McCoy  told 22News this gathering didn’t make his decision of whom to vote for any easier.

“Such an incredibly loaded field.  Amazing talent tonight.  My take-home is; it almost made it harder because everyone brings to the table a lot of great ideas and great talent,” McCoy said.

22News I-Team Reporter Laura Hutchinson was on the media panel posing questions to the candidates.

Deval Patrick is not seeking re-election. The Democrat primary election  will be held September 9th.
