Community Action is offering free tax preparation to low-income families. This is the 8th year Community Action has offered tax preparation assistance.

According to Holly Kosisky, the Asset Development Coordinator of Community Action, “What happens often is the lower income folks will go to get their refund quicker will go to a professional tax service and get charged so that’s actually eating into that credit that’s supposed to be helping them.”
You have to make an appointment for this free service. You can call your local Community Action office or fill out an application online.
