Attempted armed robbery at a Springfield gas station

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP)- Springfield Police are searching for a man who threatened he had a weapon in a Springfield gas station early Tuesday morning.

Springfield Police Captain Harry Kastrinakis told 22News that the man had attempted to rob the Pride gas station on Columbus Avenue.

Police were called to the incident sometime after 5:00 Tuesday morning.

Capt. Kastrinakis said that the suspect implied he had a weapon, but did not end up stealing anything.  Police are still searching for that suspect.
