HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Hartford police say that one person has died in a fire at a multifamily home where a young child was reported missing.

Authorities haven’t identified the person killed in the fire on Bedford Street on Tuesday morning, and aren’t saying whether the victim was a child.

Firefighters responded to the three-story home at about 5:30 a.m. Emergency responders rescued two adults and a child from the building, but say another child was believed to be trapped inside.

Officials say about 10 people lived in apartments in the building, including four children. It’s not clear if anyone else was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
