Laundromat damaged by fire in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A laundromat in Springfield’s Maple High-Six Corners neighborhood suffered damage after a dryer fire Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to Mom’s Laundry at 169 Hancock Street just after 2:30 Friday afternoon.
Aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News customers were inside the laundromat when the fire started but no one was injured.

Leger said unless the building suffered some sort of electrical damage, the business should be able to reopen.
