3 arrested on warrants by Springfield police

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Three wanted suspects, including a man accused of rape, were arrested by Springfield police officers in just about an hour and a half’s time Thursday morning.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that the arrests of the following three men were made between 6:00 and 7:30 in different parts of the city:

  • Justin Availes, who was wanted on a warrant for rape, was arrested at his Montclair Street home at around 6:00.
  • John Platten, 43, who was wanted for assault and battery on a child, was arrested at his home on Thompson Street.
  • Abraham Adolphus, 21, was arrested on Patton Street on a warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

All three men will be arraigned in Springfield District Court.
